Exams and certificates
The high standard that we set throughout our entire teaching programme is based on the level of knowledge a student needs to pass the most widely respected, widely recognised and most rigorous English language exams. Candidates are expected to be equally proficient in reading, writing, comprehension, speaking and use of English. Those are the standards set by Cambridge English Language Assessment, a part of the University of Cambridge, with the exams in Serbia being organised by the British Council.
In our school we use carefully chosen and stimulating textbooks from various foreign publishers. Each year, students advance to the next level, with each level bringing more complex language and grammatical structures, as well as vocabulary. When the time comes to take one of the exams, they possess the skills necessary to prepare for and pass said exams. These skills have proven to be useful not only for learning English, but also for making it easier to master their mother tongue or another foreign language.
We are proud to be able to say that our students have achieved a 100% pass rate in all of these exams.

Our school specialises in preparing for the following exams:
- KET (Key English Test) – This exam is for younger, pre-intermediate students at the A2 level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language – CEFR
- PET (Preliminary English Test) – For intermediate level students, or B1 according to the CEFR
The KET and PET exams are optional and are taken by those students who wish to have a certificate at around the age of 12 or 13. Most of our students aspire to pass one of the more challenging and even more recognized exams such as FCE, CAE and CPE, so they often decide not to take the KET and PET exams. However, those who do pass one of these exams continue their education with us in order to obtain a second or even a third certificate.
- FCE (First Certificate in English) – After completing upper intermediate level, or B2 according to the CEFR
- CAE (Cambridge Advanced English) – After completing our advanced course, or C1 according to the CEFR
- CPE (Cambridge Proficiency in English) – C2 according to the CEFR. CPE is generally considered the highest attainment of English language for a non-native speaker.
With FCE, CAE and CPE certificates a lot of doors are opened for those who wish to study or work abroad. These certificates do not expire, that is, they are valid for one’s entire life.

- Redovno imamo decu od samo deset godina koja imaju samopouzdanja da se u inostranstvu sporazumevaju na engleskom – na iznenađenje i oduševljenje roditelja
- Dobar deo naših učenika učestvuje na opštinskim, gradskim i republičkim takmičenjima iz engleskog jezika
- Neki od naših bivših učenika su sada i sami profesori engleskog jezika, a imali smo i aktuelne profesore koji su kod nas usavršavali zanat
- Mnogi su nakon Active English School nastavili svoje studije ili se zaposlili u inostranstvu
